Painted Bubblegum Carnations
Painted Bubblegum is a painted carnation, sold in 40-stem bunches on 60 cm stems. The colour is applied to a white carnation after cutting, not grown, which is how you get light blue and pink in a flower that doesn't produce it naturally. Each stem carries a single ruffled bloom about 2 to 3 inches across. Painted carnations are the cheapest way to hit an exact colour brief, and they hold as long as any other carnation. Carnations are the hardest-working flower in the cooler: cheap per stem, long in the vase, and sturdy enough to take the handling that bouquets, flower walls and pomander balls demand. PetalDriven ships carnations farm-direct and overnight anywhere in the US with free shipping, unarranged and ready to process, at wholesale prices with no tax ID required.

Shipping Info
- Free US shipping on every order.
- Ships FedEx Priority Overnight for next-day delivery.
- Pick your delivery date on the calendar when you add carnations to your cart. The calendar shows the next available date.
- Delivery is available Tuesday through Friday. We recommend Tuesday–Thursday, since a Friday arrival leaves no working day to sort out a problem before a weekend event.
- Schedule delivery so the carnations arrive 2–3 days before your event. They ship in bud and need that long in water to open.
- Carnations arrive boxed and unarranged, with no signature required. They travel better than almost any other cut flower, which is why they're the safest choice for a long shipping route.
Care and Processing Instructions
- Unbox as soon as they arrive and get the stems into water.
- Fill a clean bucket or vase with a few inches of cool water.
- Strip any foliage that would sit below the water line.
- Cut between the nodes, not through them. Carnation stems have swollen joints along their length; cutting at a joint blocks the stem and the bloom never drinks properly. Cut about an inch above a node, at an angle.
- Keep them indoors in a cool spot away from heaters, air conditioning drafts, and direct sunlight.
- Keep them away from ripening fruit. Carnations are among the most ethylene-sensitive flowers there are, and a fruit bowl on the same counter will shorten their life by days.
- Change the water and recut the stems every 2 to 3 days.
- Allow 2 to 3 days for the blooms to open fully. A warmer room speeds opening; a cooler one slows it down.
- Painted carnations can shed a little dye into the water and onto hands or linens while you work. Use a clean bucket, change the water if it colours, and keep a cloth handy when arranging.

These carnations are painted after cutting, so the colour is applied rather than grown. Slight variation between stems and a little dye in the water are normal and aren't considered damage.
